Biography

Born on 2 January 1992 in Makoni, Zimbabwe, I grew up navigating economic and educational hurdles in my rural community. I completed my primary education at Nyadzonya Primary (Grade 7, 2007), and secondary education at Nzvimbe High School (O-Level, 2011) in rural Nyazura. I went to Mutare TR's College (A-Level, 2013). Driven by a passion for both numbers and digital innovation, I enrolled at the University of Zimbabwe’s Mutare Teachers College and earned my Diploma in Secondary Mathematics Education in 2016—the same year I was awarded an ICDL certificate after completing a foundational ICT course.

In January 2017 I began my teaching career at Kush Academy Independent College, a private high school in Mutare, Zimbabwe, where I taught GCSE Ordinary-Level Mathematics and A-Level Pure Mathematics and Statistics. While teaching, I pursued my Bachelor of Education in Mathematics at the University of Zimbabwe—graduating in 2020—and then continued at Kush Academy until 30 September 2022, when I voluntarily resigned to accept an international appointment in Rwanda.

Recognizing the shortcomings of generic e-learning platforms while teaching, I launched a self-directed software-development journey in January 2023. Starting with no-code web builders, I soon moved into full-stack PHP development through a year of intensive self-study. More recently, I have been mastering Laravel to build scalable, maintainable educational tools. These projects—dynamic lesson modules, data-driven assessment portals, and custom learning dashboards—have fundamentally reshaped my teaching philosophy and reinforced my belief in technology’s power to deepen mathematical understanding.

On 19 October 2022 I joined the Ministry of Education of Rwanda which deployed me at TTC Saint Jean Baptiste Cyahinda to serve as a Mathematics Tutor in the Department of Science and Mathematics. In this role I train future educators in pedagogical best practices—and, although my primary responsibility is teaching mathematics, I have also led the school’s ICT integration: introducing and administering Google Workspace for Education to enhance collaboration, streamlined communication, and cloud-based lesson delivery.

Married on 23 April 2022, I am a family man committed to lifelong learning, innovation, and the conviction that high-quality, tech-infused mathematics education can transform lives and communities. Having successfully delivered multiple functional IT projects alongside my teaching duties, I now consider myself unstoppable in my mission to elevate STEM learning through purposeful, digitally empowered instruction.
